What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to keep and send back on later requests, so the site can recognise the visit. It can come from the site you are reading (first-party) or from another service (third-party), and it lasts until you close the browser (session) or until a set expiry date (persistent). Local storage works in a similar way, so we checked it too.
Cookies this site uses
For the test we used a browser profile with nothing stored in it, opened the home page, the About page and this page, and then read out every cookie and every local storage entry the browser held.

Visit statistics
1winbet.com.ng runs through Cloudflare. Its Web Analytics script adds up page views, device types and rough country, and does this without cookies or local storage. We look only at totals to decide which pages need updating; the figures cannot point to one reader.
No consent banner
A consent banner is there to ask about optional cookies. Since our pages set none while you read, there is no choice to collect. Should we add a tool that does set cookies, it will appear in the table above first, with a way to refuse it.
The affiliate click cookie
Some links on our pages go to 1win and carry the label “18+ · T&C apply”. A tap on one passes through the affiliate link service at play.1winbet.com.ng, which in our test stored one technical cookie on its own address for about a day. The cookie holds a random code that lets the operator credit us with a commission if you register; it carries no name, number or email. Our page on how we work with 1win explains the partnership.
After that you are on 1win.ng, where the operator’s own cookie and privacy rules apply. If you would rather skip the click cookie, open 1win by typing its address, and we earn nothing from that visit.
We do not run advertising networks that follow you across other sites.
How to manage cookies

Your browser settings let you see stored cookies, delete some or all of them, block third-party cookies or block cookies entirely.
On a phone
- Chrome on Android: open the menu (three dots), go to Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies or Delete browsing data.
- Safari on iPhone: open Settings, then Apps, then Safari (on older iOS versions, Settings, then Safari), then Advanced, or use Block All Cookies and Clear History and Website Data on the Safari settings screen.
On a computer
In Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, the cookie options sit under Privacy or Privacy and security in the browser settings. Menu names change between versions, so if you cannot find an option, search the browser’s help pages for “cookies”.
Private or incognito mode is another option: cookies set during that session are removed when you close the window.
Blocking the affiliate click cookie does not stop you using 1win or change any offer you receive. It only means the operator may not record that you came from our site.
Changes to this policy
We run the same test again whenever we add a tool to the site and update this page and its date.
