What the 1win licence wording in the footer says

Every claim about an operator’s paperwork should start with the exact words, so here is the footer text as it appeared during our check: “The website is operated, and the services are provided by BID Entertainment Limited, acting under the National Sports Betting Permit No. 00000045, granted by the National Lottery Regulatory Commission; and licensed under the License No. OYSGB/CASB/2592001 by the Oyo State Gaming and Lottery Board”.
That sentence makes two separate claims. The first is a sports betting permit from the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC), the federal body. The second is a licence from the Oyo State Gaming and Lottery Board, a state regulator. A state licence is issued under that state’s rules, so it does not by itself tell you how another state treats online betting. The same footer shows an “NDP Act 2023 Audit Compliant 2024” badge, which refers to Nigeria’s data protection law, plus GamCare and GambleAware logos, an 18+ mark, a Privacy Policy and Cookie Information.
How to check the numbers yourself
A licence number in a footer is a statement by the operator, not proof. We copied the wording but did not look the permit or licence up in a regulator’s records. If you want certainty before a large deposit, take the permit number and the licence number to the NLRC and the Oyo State board through their official contact channels, and check that the company name matches BID Entertainment Limited. Also confirm you are on 1win.ng itself: a copy of the site at a different address would not be covered by anything in this footer.
Where Nigerian law fits in
Which rules apply to you can depend on your state as well as on the federal regulator, so we give no legal verdict here; our guide to the rules on online betting in Nigeria explains who regulates what.
Is 1win real or fake: what the site showed us

Here is what we saw on 1win.ng past the home page. None of it proves that payouts happen on time, and none of it is a verdict on the operator.
- Registration: the form takes a phone number and a password, with an optional promo code field. We did not complete it.
- Cashier: deposit methods in naira include Opay, PalmPay, Paga, Paystack and Flutterwave options and Nigerian Visa, Mastercard and Verve cards. We made no deposit.
- Casino: the lobby carried games from established studios such as Pragmatic Play, NetEnt and Evolution, and Book of Dead showed a “Demo mode” option.
- Responsible gaming: a dedicated page with links to support organisations and a self-exclusion option.
- Sportsbook (13.10): a menu with Top, Live, Upcoming, TOP Bets, Esports and Bet history, decimal odds and a betslip with Single, Multiple and Series tabs.
We placed no bet, so we cannot say how bets settle or how disputed results are handled.
Is 1win safe for your money and data?
Nobody can answer that with a plain yes or no, and we will not. What we can do is show the controls that exist and the gaps we found.
Withdrawals and identity checks
For trust, the order of the withdrawal flow matters more than its speed. Pressing Withdraw opens “Identity verification” before any form, methods or limits, and the Terms include a written proof-of-address rule. The cost to you is that limits and payout times stay hidden until you are verified. The payout speeds quoted online come from independent reviews, not from us, because we made no withdrawal. Our step-by-step withdrawal guide covers the documents, the reported times and how to cancel a pending request.
Is the 1win app safe to use?
1win.ng offers an Android app through its “1win for Android” menu item and, for iPhone, a home-screen web app added through Safari. We read those install steps on 13.10 but did not install the app, so we cannot vouch for what it does on a phone. Any “1win app” offered through a link in a chat group or an advert is not the one the site describes. Our notes on getting the 1win app from the official site give the steps.
Support and responsible gaming
Support runs through a live chat that the site describes as 24/7, with Telegram and WhatsApp listed as other channels; there is no FAQ or help centre to fall back on. How the chat performed when we tested it is in our 1win support review. The Responsible Gaming page links to four support organisations and sets a six-month minimum for self-exclusion. We found no deposit-limit tool on that page; we did not see the account settings of a live account, so we cannot say whether a limit exists there.
Is 1win legit in Nigeria? Where the evidence stops
We did not collect user complaints ourselves, and we will not repeat claims from forums. One point from independent reviews is worth knowing: according to those reviews, large withdrawals may need extra verification. The terms we read point to other areas where disputes between players and betting sites usually start:
- Bonus wagering. The first-deposit card shows wagering x30 and a maximum withdrawal from the bonus of x1, and the wagering period is not shown. A player who expects to withdraw everything won with bonus money can be disappointed; read the full terms before accepting.
- Verification timing. Withdrawals stay locked until identity verification is done. Verify early, before you have a large balance waiting.
- Unofficial codes and links. Our promo code is NAIJA1WIN and it gives the standard welcome package. Treat other “1win” codes or links passed around in chat groups with caution, and never type your password into a page you reached from such a link.
If you are weighing 1win against other bookmakers, the same tests apply to all of them; our list of checks we run on any Nigerian bookmaker sets them out.

Cons

Our verdict on 1win's credibility
6.9/10 The footer states the operator and both licence numbers in full, the cashier works in naira with local methods, and the withdrawal flow starts with an identity check. The rating stays below 7 because the licences are the operator’s own claims until you confirm them, payouts were not tested, we found no help centre, and the Responsible Gaming page shows no deposit-limit tool.
It suits bettors who are prepared to verify their account early, confirm the licence numbers themselves and keep records of every transaction.
Who should skip it: anyone who would only bet with a site whose permits they have already confirmed with a regulator, or who needs a deposit limit they have already seen working on the site.

FAQ
Is 1win legit or a scam?
We cannot give a yes or no: our check found a site whose footer names BID Entertainment Limited and two licences, but we did not verify them with the regulators and made no withdrawal. Check the numbers yourself before a large deposit.
What 1win license is shown on the Nigerian site?
The footer names a National Sports Betting Permit granted by the National Lottery Regulatory Commission and a licence from the Oyo State Gaming and Lottery Board. Both numbers are quoted in full in the licence section of this page.
Who operates 1win in Nigeria?
The footer names BID Entertainment Limited as the company that operates the website and provides the services.
Are 1win promo codes shared in Telegram groups real?
Treat them with caution. Our code is NAIJA1WIN, entered in the optional promo code field at sign-up; we did not check codes from chat groups and cannot say what they add.
Can I close my 1win account if gambling becomes a problem?
Yes, self-exclusion is available through account settings or [email protected]. The account cannot be reopened earlier than 6 months later.
Is betting on 1win allowed in my state?
It depends on your state's rules, because gambling regulation in Nigeria now sits mainly with the states. Check your own state's position before betting.
